Daphne Rubin-Vega 'Redemption Songs'

After joining the group Pajama Party, with which she made two albums on Atlantic before going solo to write and record singles for the indie club label, Maxi, Daphne Rubin-Vega cut her first album of original music "Souvenirs" in 1997. The two-time Tony nominee is best known for her roles as Mimi in the Original Broadway Cast of Rent, Gloria Perez in the feature film "Wild Things" and her star turn in the Pulitzer Prize-winning Anna in the Tropics.
Redemption Songs, Rubin-Vega's second album, was written and recorded while she was pregnant with her first child, Luca Ariel. The album is a vibrant and sophisticated collection of rock, pop and reggae songs that are soulful, passionate, and from the heart.
